Regarding the upgrade you should talk to your ETC dealer.

The word Router is used quite widely for different devices, could you write down the manufacturer and exact model name of the device you're referring to?

The router is a Belkin F5D7230-4

of course you can try if it works wihotut config. on the back you have 5 RJ45 connectors. one is labeled Modem. (i think it's the one on the right), so NOT use this one. plug the network cable from your console into one of the 4 ports and the connection to your network in another one of the 4 ports.

but be aware that if this device fails (and if i googled the right device it's quite old, actually dinosaur age in IT terms), your connection to the lighting network will be gone...

If for some reason it does fail does that mean that they will have to re config the whole ETCNet system? 

it just means that your console can't reach your lighting network until someone replugs your network cable to have a direct connection from console to lighting network. this might also warrant exiting to the shell and coming back online with your console.

I'll let you know how it goes I will be there on Monday. We had a remote focus remote but then someone stole it last year don't know why they did it but we still haven't gotten it back.

Update: Even though everything is connected right I still can't access the console via the app. It shows the red circle with the exclamation point inside next to the IP address. Do you have any suggestions? I even connected to the router via wifi and still nothing.

IP address and subnet of phone, router and console?

did you allow the remote both in the shell and in setup?

The IP of the board is different from the router should I change the board IP? Will this mess up the net 3 output? 

what are the IP addresses of the console, the router and the phone? each with their subnet mask please

The routers IP is 10.101.100.105 the consoles IP is 192.168.0.1 I can’t get the subnet mask right now as the board is currently on and being used. 

ok, this can't work.

assuming that you're system (console and net3) is properly configured you will need to get the router and the phone into the same subnet as the console. so you need two IP addresses that are currently unused. do you have a list of which IP addresses are currently being used in your system, e.g. the gateways, maybe dimmer processors?

assuming the console's subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 and the following IP addresses are not used you could make the router 192.168.0.200 and the phone 192.168.0.201, both with the same subnet mask as the console.

please bear in mind that you can use each IP address only once in your network, that's why you need to figure out which addresses are already used.

Didn't you mistaken the IP addresses? Usually routers IP addresses are 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.2.1. Most conventional router for home use can't have an IP 10.x.x.x

I can try and get the paradigm architectural IP through the Sacn output viewer not sure if that would help but I think that’s the only other thing that would have an IP on the system. Let me know if this would help

so there's nothing converting network to dmx?

you can find the paradigm processors IP from the About menu in the front display of the processor.

As of right now no as we don't have any Led's or movers that might change in a few months though. However, there is a net 3 to dmx gateway just hanging on a pipe in our storage closet. I will check the IP tomorrow on the paradigm. I'll let you know
