RFR shutting down - Battery Issue??

Has anyone had this issue:

The RFR is not wanting to work when it's not plugged into its charging cord. It was working fine until a couple of days ago. I checked to see if it was just that the batteries may be run down and charged it for 24 hours. No change. It boots up fine, finds the base station fine. Works fine in every way. Goes dead once I unplug it. Could it be a battery issue? Could something have come loose?

  • I had the same problem with my RFR.  Hold it up to your ear and shake it.  Do you hear anything moving?.  I opened mine up and found out the terminals were not touching the battery,  I bent the prongs back and all is well

  • I had the same issue 2 months ago during Full tech prep the night before opening, AAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!  A week later I had time to check out the situation and found the battery prongs had bent themselves away from the battery.

The FIX:: Open up the RFR (as if to change the batteries) ; remove the batteries, push the negative prongs inward(towards the batteries) reinstall the batteries; replace the cover removed earlier; turn on the RFR (assuming the batteries have a charge); the RFR should work just fine

All I can say is Thankfully the Director persuaded the checkbook to purchase the EOS RVI.
