Eos 3.1 Touchscreen Issues

After updating to 3.1 on the Eos Ti the touch screens will do a second delayed tap on the built in touch screens. I’ve encountered this issues across multiple Ti consoles, and consoles even upgraded by ETC that were received as demo loans. Does anybody else have this problem?

  • I have the same problem with our Ti console. Sometimes it would detect a double touch instead of a single touch, randomly and for no reason.

We tried a few things and found that turning on all the devices and then waiting about 30 minutes before turning on the console solved the problem most of the time.

So we changed our power distribution and plugged the console in 24/7.
Surprisingly, this did not work at all.

Over the last few weeks we have been doing small tests, first without any peripherals, then adding more and more.
Desklights, mouse, keyboard, network, external monitor power, monitor signal, monitor touch, a Midi interface and the DMX output.

It seems that the problem has something to do with the connected USB devices.

Our current workaround is unplugging the midi interface and external mouse and then starting the console.
Plugging in the mouse after booting works without double touch.

This method seems to work reliably.

Perhaps someone else with this problem could check their USB devices.

By the way, our way of noticing the double-tapping is to use the internal touch keyboard to label something and pressing each letter sequentially.
