Patching multi channel light to separated addresses

Is there a way to patch a multi-channel light to DMX addresses which are separated? For example, I have an LED light, in a mode which requires 10 addresses. My universe is used up with other patches, but I have over 10 addresses that are free. Unfortunately, these available addresses are not next to each other, but peppered throughout the universe. (i.e. available addresses: 12, 18, 30, 41-46, 271, 423, 424,. Utilizing these to patch one 10 address required light.)

Is it possible to utilize these free addresses which are separated by other patched lights and make my LED light function?

  • you will have to create new fixture profiles, each profile containing one parameter. then you patch all those partial profiles as parts of the same channel. because they're parts you can independently address.

if there are 16bit parameters in this fixture they weel need to stay together.

this might not work without additional fine-tuning but it should get you started.
