Computer not connecting as a Client

I've followed the instruction on the manual of how to connect my Mac to a Ion xe20. They are on the same ip subnet and I can ping both ways each device but when I use client mode, my mac can't find the master console. This is now the 2nd time this has happened to me. Interestingly enough, if I look into setting and just open the augmented 3d tab, I can see the console as a yellow connection. Any thoughts or solutions to this problem?

  • Any time I've seen this, it's because the Mac is not running 'SLPD', which is the background process for  'Service Location Protocol', the protocol Eos-es use to find each other. It should run automatically, but sometimes, like all things computer, it just doesn't.

On the Mac, find Activity Monitor (usually in Applications > Utilities), open it and see if 'SLPD' shows up in the list of running processes.

If yes  - it is there and running and this is probably not the issue. Though maybe force-quit and then re-run it.

If not - open Terminal (also in Applications > Utilities), open it and type 'slpd' then return to run the service.

Then quit Eos and re-run it and try again.
