Add thumbnails for external media servers

I have a couple of suggestions.  The thumbnails in ML controls are generated by looking at files in the Media Archive, so if you load images into Library 001 and give them leading 3-digit values ("001_circle") you will see their thumbnails.

You can also edit the Fixture Profile to give yourself useful names.  The default is "FIP ###" but you can change that to whatever you like in the Range Editor.  

The first method only works for the internal Virtual Media Server though, doesn't it?

The second method might work, but I'd have to set multiple modes for the File parameter, based on the Library value. I'll play around with it this weekend and see what I can come up with.

You're correct on both counts.  You cannot build a profile from scratch that uses "Library" and "File" and have it load the thumbnails from the Media Archive.  There is extra under-the-hood plumbing to get the internal / Fixture Library profile of Virtual Media Layer to show those thumbnails.
