LCD Monitor issue/VGA output

I have a LCD monitor plugged into the VGA output on my ION. When I boot up the board the monitor works fine then once the show loads the monitor enters into "power save mode". I have been into the external monitor settings and re-enabled the 2nd monitor. Then after applying the changes, it automatically un-enables the monitor again. Any suggestions???

  • It sounds like the monitor does not support 1280x1024 resolution, which is what the VGA port will default to when the OS has loaded - it is much lower before which is why you see the BIOS screen without problems.

The VGA port is monitor 1, not 2 - you will need to attach a monitor (DVI or VGA) that supports 1280 resolution, and then lower the resolution setting for monitor 1. I would start with 1024x768.

Alternatively, you can usually find DVI monitors that support 1280+ resolution relatively cheaply.
