Edit a Preset

Last night some presets got recorded on our Eos running 1.8 with parameter we did not want.  (Inten and Color).  Much to my dismay I could not figure out how to edit the preset without those parameters.  I tried to update and then re-record as well but it held the original preset information until I deleted and started over.  Is this expected behavior or am I just doing something completely wrong.

  • The easiest way to remove specific data from a preset is to view it in blind, select the specific data you want to remove and @enter it.  You can use the categories and specific items in the cia to remove just the items you want to.  In your case if you selected the channels and used the intensity and color categories then pressed @enter the data would be gone.

You can remove the data from live if you select the channels and specific items you want in the preset and then record remdim the preset.  The rem dim command will remove all existing data from the target as it records the new data into the target.

    Hope this helps

  • thank you i should have added i tried that as well....and when i did that (ch# Intesity @ enter) it took all paramterws out of preset...again i may just be that dense but i did try that

  • You can also get this same functionality before you record by using Filters. If you push and hold Filter and then select the categorys you wish to record then only that data will get recorded. i.e. Filter+Focus, Beam. When you you record you will only get Focus and Beam. This can also be done with individual parameters. Filter+Tilt, Only Tilt will get recorded. One thing to remember is once you are done using filters to turn them off by repeating the process or a quick way is to hold the Filter key and select Clear Filters. Otherwise you will only record those parameters in everything you record.

    Hope this helps!
