Capture and Rem Dim

During big focus calls, there is usually a main team working with the designer, who is calling a lot "add please" and "instead of" commands.  "Instead of" means Rem Dim and the designer takes precedent, but often there are other people doing secondary focus notes and/or troubleshooting requiring channels to remain up through a Rem Dim command.  Currently, the obvious solution is to Park those secondary channels.  However this is a little inconvenient for a couple of reasons: I can't see all of my active channels at once in the same display.  My park status usually has at least several channels Parked for various power supplies and such, plus currently, my designer has about a dozen channels parked out that he hopes to cut.  Therefore a couple or three channels temporarily parked for short side projects don't really jump out when I need to get rid of them.

My wish is that I could simply Capture them and that they not be affected by Rem Dim then I could control them all without leaving the Live display.  As Rem Dim is usually used during focus and channel checks, I don't see that this would realy change the use of Capture during playback.

Can I get an "Oh Yeah!" from the chorus?   ...anybody?

  • Marc,

I am embarrassed to say that I have tried this since it came to my attention about a year ago.  I must have missed it in the release notes.

I wish I had made this fool of myself last week though, it would have been more useful.

Steve, No worries.  The nature of the forum is to sort of vote on ideas.  I'm happy we can do it cordially- most of the time.

I'll look into the proportional patch thing today.

    Thanks again, B
