Ion unparks upon being turned on

I was operating an Ion at a church over the weekend, and before I left, I saved my show, and turned off like normal. Everything turned off like it should, and after a few minutes the non-dims shut off as well.

Today, the console was turned on (by the production manager, as I do not attend this church, or live near it), and it loaded fine, except that none of the moving lights came on. The dimmer racks have non-dim modules, which are parked by the console, but nothing was parked. It is the same exact show that the console loaded that it was last used with (by me). Is this a software bug?

The console has had many quirks before (the LCD's didnt turn on, it would crash at booting, have jumbled LCD (external) screens). There is a UNISON system that controls work lights, which are also on a non-dim circuit. The lighting console has access to these as well; the Ion is running Net2.

Any thoughts on why the console would load, but with unparked channels when it has loaded fine times before with those channels parked at full?

I had the guy go to the dimmer room, and note all the non-dims, and go repark them. Any ideas are greatly appreciated, I plan to download the new software (to floppy... I presume?) and load it into the Ion next time I am there.

There's also problems with the Unison system... but that's for another day once we figure this Ion deal out.

The desk is about a year old, is one of the first runs, and has had problems since the beginning; they're just getting worse unfortunately.

  • I can't help with your issue, although I can say that that should not happen.  I have channels parked and they always come on with the board. I know there were some changes in whether or not parked channels get stored with a show file, but I can't remember what the behavior currently is. Do you know what software version the board was running?

As for updating the software that is done by using a usb flash drive.

  • Hi guys.  The park buffer is maintained through power off/on and loading new show files.  (We have had discussions about including the park buffer in the show file store/open, but haven't yet made that change.

Can you email me the log files from the site (or ask someone else to do it if you are no longer there), along with a date/time that the park buffer cleared??

Also, I saw your post on Lightnetwork, where you indicate the site is running an extremely old version of software.  Do you happen to recall what version that was???

    Thanks much!
