I've opened my ETC Ion and took out my dongle. Placed it in a Macbook. In the ETC Ion i have 1024 outputs, on a Macbook i have 6144 outputs. How is this possible and why??????

i'm not aware of all the details, but i think this (certainly among other things) depends on the Eos software version: the same dongle unlocks different amounts in different versions, but the differents i've seen were 512 or 1024 rather than 5000. do the Ion and the mac run the same version?

The software versions are the same, Both my Macbook and my Ion (which had a new upgraded motherboard and windows version) are running 3.1.4. The dongle is exactly the same. I asked to someone at ETC. They say the Ion is limited because i bought it like that. If I want an upgrade (which they gave for free for the separate dongle i bought a couple of years ago) I have to contact my local dealer. :-)
