select single channels inside a group

hello everybody

in the past i (as an operator) or a designer wanted to ask for the "front light, 1st zone, 2nd light from the left" without knowing the channel number. but i would know that 1st zone of the front light was Group 11. so it would have been handy to type Group 11/2 At Full, where 2 would be the 2nd channel in this group. it doesn't necessarily have to be a / , it could be a . but since you can have a goup 11.1 i think that would be confusing..

any thoughts?

Felix

ps: i hope i didn't miss an essential part of the manual where you describe how to do exactly what i want to do... and if i have made a complete fool out of myself, then please point me to the page of the manual ;-)

  • Actually, you didn't miss anything in the manual about this - as the function you are looking for doesn't quite exist.  You can use next/last to navigate through the channels in you group, but..... :-)

We've had several suggestions along the lines you've described above.  And we (the team)  like the idea a lot.  As such, its currently "on the list."

    Thanks much!

  • great!

and of course it would be even better to be able to select the third from the end, without doing math (six in total, third from the end, number four from the beginning). Group 1/-3 At Full, or whatever else you guys can come up with...
