Wrong Home Value sometimes appearing - 3.2.5

Hi, I've been having an issue with Eos sometimes giving me the wrong values when using home. If I have no values recorded for a given fixture, certain parameters can show up in cues in this wrong Home Value. I'm not sure exactly how. But, I can replicate this by selecting a fixture in blind that has no data recorded and with a cue selected, I will Home one of the affected parameters and it will give the wrong value. This has caused Hippo Layers to be rotated on their head (probably what happened here: https://community.etcconnect.com/control_consoles/eos-family-consoles/f/eos-family/27812/z-rotate-keep-changing), Iris closed on Robe T2 causing no output all of a sudden, and strobing on a Solaframe 1500 that was absolutely not appropriate. I have found a workaround of recording a home value into my first cue. But this has caused problems for other operators here in the theater who didn't know about this.

The affected parameters/channels I have discovered are;

1. Robe Robin T2 (modified fixture profile, frost+shutter adjustments only modified) - Iris Channel affected

2. SolaFrame 1500 (modified profile, shutters modified) - Shutter Strobe affected

3. Hippo v4 layer (v4.5 through 4.8) - Z rotate affected

I'll send over a showfile via upload link if required.

Thanks!

  • Hi and happy new year! Great to hear this is being worked on!

    I wonder why these wrong home values slip into cues sometimes. Could be caused by Blind Editing a cue maybe. This has caused me problems so I have defaulted to recording in the first cue the Live Home value for these parameters I have identified as problematic so I won’t have these errors happening. This has at least caused some rather awkward -150° rotations on hippo layers, and T2’s Iris competely closed, on one off shows with little prep time where I didn’t spot this before show. Hopefully this gets resolved.

    Is there a better approach/workaround than recording the correct home values in cue 1?
