"Usage" now "Refresh Usage"....Why?

So with 1.7 I could go to the About display, select Usage, enter a channel, and then step using Next/Last to see the maximum intensity for each channel (looking for zero, in my case).  Now with 1.9 I have to hit "Refresh Usage" after hitting Next/Last!  How is this a good idea?  It seems to me that if the Usage tab is highlighted a "Refresh" is implied when you change channels.  Do you really want the user to now move their hand repeatedly from keypad to touch screen?

  • Because the screen now only repaints upon demand, rather than every time a new channel is selected.  The purpose of this screen is to provide on-line usage information.  Prior to putting in the refresh function, if that window was open, each time a channel was selected, the system had to conduct a full search through the show data for the required reporting.

There is no real guarantee that the next move the user will take is "next."  Lots of different options here.
