Macro Assist: Time

Question

I've made simple macros in the past but need one with a timing element! A cheap Chinese ML needs to be reset frequently to keep the color wheel in synch. 
 I need to put a value of 255 into DMX address 358 for 6 seconds and then put that address back to 0.

Resets with timing aspects isn't uncommon in moving lights. That's why there is functionality for exactly this case: Lamp Controls.

 In Patch, Fixtures, select your fixture profile on the left hand side. In the parameter list on the right find which DMX address is used for the reset, i.e. on which address of this profile you want to send the 255 (that's not 358, that's something like the 8th address, c.f. the DMX column). 
 With that number in mind use the softkey Lamp Controls, this step 1 of the process from the manual. 
 The address number you memorized will be used in step 7. 
 This whole process will lead to a button being shown in About > LampControls. Pressing this button will send the defined value to the defined DMX address, following the timing you specified.
