Two ETCnomad Dongles and one PC

Hey there,

does anybody know how many channels I can use on a Laptop with one 1K Dongle and one 6K Dongle plugged in? I know they don't add licensed channels. I know that two EOS devices together in one network session only output the amount of channels, to which the one with the least amout of channels is licensed to. But what about in one device?

The background to this is that I have a 1K ETCnomad dongle permanently installed deep in a compact mobile rack and am currently thinking about buying a 6K dongle. If I plug this into the rack, can I then use 1024 or 6144 channels?

Best regards

Lars

  • Hi sstaub, thanks for your answer. But it doesn't answer my question yet. I would only buy a second one because sometimes I need redundancy. So I wouldn't just upgrade the existing one. But if I don't need redundancy but want my rack to be able to output more than two universes, do I need to disassemble the rack to unplug the old one just to have more channels licensed? Regards
