aurora borealis light effect

I'm new to Eos and I'm trying to make an aurora borealis effect with 5 spectracyc 200 rgbw 608s and all of the forums/guides haven't been helpful so far. How do i go about making this effect?

  • This might be something you could use pixelmapping for. An Effect Layer with one of the random red blue patterns using blue and green as start and end color.

  • For the general understanding of pixelmapping you can find some videos here: https://www.etcconnect.com/Support/Tutorials/Expert-Topics/Virtual-Media-Server.aspx

This is what i did for a quick mock-up, assuming those 5 fixtures are channel 1 to 5:

    Tab 9:

In Live set your fixtures at full with RGB all at full.

I set the server channel at full (Chan 10 in my case), Crossfade at -100 (that's its minimum):

And set the following values for the effect layer (Chan 11 in my case):
    Intens At Full
    Intens_3 At 50
    Start color: choose something green/cyan
    End color: chose something blue/cyan
    Playback_Speed 20
    File Input_File_Select_1
    Width 5
    Height 1

Tab 10 shows you a preview, this is what i get:

    I hope this helps!
