Submaster HTP merging with live values

Hi,

I have a couple of lights receiving live values occasionally, via OSC. In order to maintain a minimum brightness I would like to have a submaster set a minimum intensity which the lights never drop below. I thought this would be easy, set a submaster to HTP-merge, map it to the (intensity of) those lights. Boom, done.. But nope, can't make it work.
Either the submaster has such a high priority that it always overwrites the live values, even if these are higher and after principle of HTP should set the value. Or the live values always overwrite the submaster, no matter what.

I've played around with intensity master, varyious priority settings and other submaster settings, but no avail.
(Weirdly, with Mode set to Inhibitive, I can set up a fader/submaster to be a limiter. That's easy.)

Is it even possible?

  • I have a similar need.

Are you able to set a minimum level in the dimmer rack?

I set the aisle lights and light locks at a minimum level in the rack.

I have a Light Lock Sub with a higher "minimum" level for when the show is on

I have a House Light sub (0 - full) for audience lighting, that also includes the light locks.  the light locks get bright when teh house comes up, and gets dimmer when the house lights go down.  I **Cannot** take the light locks out (either with subs, park, cues, manual changes) because of the level set in the dimmer.

My aisle lights have a minimum level set in teh rack (60%) for when the venue is empty.

for show, the console powers up adn Parks the aisle lights at full. (very little, if nothing, can override the park).

    Good luck.
