Cue updating

First off what version of software are you using?  you can find this in the about window if you open it with no channels selected.  

If you are running 1.9 there are several setup options for update that change how the board assumes updates.

If you want to update the cue with hard values and not update the palettes you can press the {make absolute} button in the update window and then enter.

You can also deselect items in the update window that you don't want to update.

You may also prevent palettes from being inadvertently included in an update by locking them. The lock option is available as a soft key in the palette list.

I have read the manual and I think I understand the "Make Absolute" function. I am running Version1.9.  I seem to have trouble understanding how to deselect them in the update window.  When the update window shows up and there is a list of the cue and the pallets, should I click on the things I do or don't want to update?

In the update window you click on items you wish to remove from the update list.

Using this method you can end up with manual (red) items still live and the cue not containing all the data depending on what other update options you have selected.  This is because sometimes you want to only update one item and have the rest stay at their manual values to get recorded or updated into another target.  I would suggest trying it several ways and look in blind at the results.  Remember you can always Undo the update if you don't like how it placed the data.
