Cue updating

Question

I am having trouble successfully updating a cue only. Example... I have a cue that has moving lights in it that are using color pallet 1 and beam pallet 1. If I change the color and than press Update it gives me a Update list of the cue I'm in and also the color and beam pallet. How do I only update the Cue and not the Color pallet and Beam pallet?

First off what version of software are you using? you can find this in the about window if you open it with no channels selected. 
 If you are running 1.9 there are several setup options for update that change how the board assumes updates. 
 If you want to update the cue with hard values and not update the palettes you can press the {make absolute} button in the update window and then enter. 
 You can also deselect items in the update window that you don't want to update.

You may also prevent palettes from being inadvertently included in an update by locking them. The lock option is available as a soft key in the palette list.
