Multiple intensity Control (Starcloth)

am a relatively new user of Eos, struggling with control of ShowLED Chameleon starcloth. It has two intensity parameters (max and min for ‘twinkle’ effect). The min intensity attribute is treated by Eos as a NIP and, as a result, presets to its next level when Tracking parameters (ie lights up in blackout if next cu3 has starcloth in it!). Given the nature of our operation, Tracking mode is our default and having inexperienced programmers I don’t want to change this. How can I reconfigure the fixture such that both max and min intensity attributes are recognised as ‘intensity’ for tracking purposes and so minimum intensity does not preset as an NIP.

I am thinking a custom Multi-cell, with the cell only having an Intensity parameter and making that the minimum intensity attribute and then deleting the minimum intensity attribute from the ‘master’ channel. Is this the best solution? Is there a better solution? If this is a workable solution, how do I do it?

Thanks in advance

  • My mistake - for ‘Tracking’ read ‘AutoMark’

    Thanks

  • Hi.

Afaik there's no way to turn off Automark on certain fixtures (which i find quite annoying to be honest).

I wasn't able to find a two channel fixture for your Starcloth in the Fixture library. Did you create a custom fixture or did you import it?

The problem is likely that the Min Intensity is in a NIP category (FCB) by default.

For a two channel fixture its super easy to build a custom fixture with Intens and Intens 2 as parameters. This should stop AutoMark from happening.

I'm not totally sure that all Intens parameters don't AutoMark (Intens Macros for example might AutoMark). Just tinker around a bit and find some parameters that make sense.

Keep in mind that if the fixture has no Intens parameter (if you do Foreground/Background Intens for example) you cannot control it with the Dimmer wheel or conventional "At" Syntax.

Multicell might be a bit overkill for a two channel fixture and might be a bit intimidating. Also it eats space on your Live Summary :D
