Apollo Spectra3 color scroller

I talked to someone a year ago about a problem with the Spectra 3 fixure in the ion software. I patch the fixture and choose the Spectra_3 personality . When I choose the channel , the scroller encoder wheel goes from F1 to F16 in one click. With the Apollo Smart scroller 7 (which we also have) the encoder wheel moves from F1 to F1+ to F2- all the way to F16 like it should.

How can I work arouund this?

thanks

  • Can you just use the Smartcolor profile without the Fan channel?  I have both of those, but on an express system, and the frames are not that far off from each other.  You could then just calibrate the scrollers to line up the same.

  • There are 2 workarounds for this issue:

The Min and Max values of this Scroller match - which looks odd (compared to other Scrollers):

    Frame 1     Min = 0      Max = 0

    Frame 2     Min = 16    Max = 16

    Frame 3     Min = 32    Max = 32

    Frame 4     Min = 48    Max = 48

    And so on….

    Via the Fixture Editor –

If you change the Max value to 1 less than the Min of the next Frame the Scroller appears to work (can hit all of the Frame values):

    Frame 1     Min = 0      Max = 15

    Frame 2     Min = 16    Max = 31

    Frame 3     Min = 32    Max = 47

    Frame 4     Min = 48    Max = 63

    Frame 5     Min = 64    Max = 79

    Frame 6     Min = 80    Max = 95

    Frame 7     Min = 96    Max = 111

    And so on…..

Another workaround is to build a Custom Scroller that has 16 frames.

This is on our list to address in software.

    Thanks,
