Custom fixture profile for Pyroterra Lighttoys FT Remote Pro

I'm creating a custom fixture profile for a Pyroterra Lighttoys FT Remote Pro. This device plays an audio file and also triggers numerous LED props from Pyroterra.

The manual (FT-Remote-PRO-user-guide.pdf) lists the different parameters (8 mode) .

I've created those parameters in a custom fixture profile:

I tried to create the parameters two different ways: Using "Dummy" control parameters; using miscellaneous Form parameters.

Questions:

Should I be using something like the "Dummy" parameters? If so, how to I control them, since they don't show up anywhere that I can find.

Or should I just be using other parameters, like "Strobe Start" under Form, even though it isn't really a "strobe" but then the parameters show up in the ML controls and I can easily control them.

I am working from home on Nomad, so can't actually test till later this week.

Thanks

Jim

  • You could for example use something like this:

Or you could go the multicell route:

This is mostly a question of personal taste. Since the implementation of Encoder Mapping you don't have to worry about parameter order on the encoders anymore. One of the only considerations left now is the question where you want to store data for this fixture. In my first example all parameters are part of the Beam category and would fit a beam palette. With other choices you might need to use a preset rather than a palette.

If you want to use Intens for the first parameter (or first five parameters) largely depends on your marking needs.
