Manual Data overrides Submaster but won't update into cue?

I feel like this a change in behavior, but maybe my expectations are wrong:

Channel 1 at Full on Sub 1

Sub 1 Exclude from Record, HTP, Same Priority as Cue List.

Sub 1 at Full
Manual Data: Channel 1 @ 50
Channel 1 moves to 50% and overrides Sub*
Update Cue 1 --- Syntax Error, Channel List Empty.**

* - I would expect the Submaster to keep Channel 1 at Full here, no?

** - If I'm seeing manual data on Channel 1 here, shouldn't that data update into the Cue?

I feel like I was previously able to write cues with submasters up and record manual data that was under a HTP/Exclude Record submaster without affecting the output. Here, I am affecting the output AND not able to record the manual data that's attached to the sub.

Is this a change? A bug? Or do I have a bad memory?

  • It is expected behavior that the manual value of 50 overrides the value provided by the sub. Manual values always have a higher priority than playbeck (with the exception of a shielded sub that doesn't allow manual values for its channels).

I can't reproduce that Update Cue 1 doesn't update into the cue. Unless you have a filter or partition on the cuelist.

If you can provide more detail or check if you can reproduce the failing update from a new showfile we'll have another look.
