Multiple net3 gw

Hello All,

Please let me know if I should move this to the networking forum...this one gets WAY more traffic!

We have an EOS in our space, that otherwise uses only DMX for connections.  We are using one net3 gateway to interface the console to the system.  This gateway is sort of tucked out of the way.  For our next production, we have a dmx device that we need at the production table.  I connected our second net3 gw to the console via cat5 cable, and the device to the gw via dmx cable.  Needless to say, the device wouldn't work.  I looked at both gw's and they had different ip addresses.  We removed the second gw and ran a LONG dmx cable to the first gw and things worked like a charm.

I just want to know if it is possible to have multiple gw's in one system?  Oh, by the way, the DMX device at the production table is a Rosco "Keystroke".

thanks!

Pat

  • Pat,

We have 13 Net3 4 port gateways in our system.  All running from the EOS.  I would run the Gateway Configuration Editor software (GCE) and make sure that the DMX ports are turned on; set to output DMX; and set the the correct DMX universe.  The GCE should be installed on the EOS in the shell or just use a laptop with GCE installed on it..

    Hope this helps.
