Clearing a Split Time Syntax

Hi

So it seems to me that the method of clearing a split time is backwards.

If I have a cue with a split time (let's say 4/6) and I want to change the time to an even 5 seconds, shouldn't I be able to just type [cue][#][time][5][*]? I would expect that command to clear the split time, but really it only changes the upfade time.

If I wanted to just change the upfade time, I would type [cue][#][time][5][time][*]. Just like typing time [5][/] on an O2. In that scenario, I am acknowledging that there is a downfade time but that I don't want to change it.

Right? Is my logic backwards here, or is Eos's logic backwards?

EDIT: Also, I would expect that if I say [time][5][time][5][*] I would also effectively clear the split fade, but that doesn't seem to be the case either. It still shows me a split time, even though both sides are the same. Why would I want that?

The 1.7 manual even says "If a cue is provided split fade times with no delay on either side, and those times are later the same values, the split time is cleared."

  • The other issue I have found with cue time syntax is that you cannot use the '/' to separate the times, oddly enough the submaster times can be denoted with a '/' though which I find really weird that the syntax would work one way for one thing but not another, personally my brain is wired to using a '/' and it takes me a sec to think to do otherwise, just in the process of updating to 1.9.1 though so we'll see if the syntax has changed to allow the '/' for cue times.
