Merging cue lists from different show files

I was wondering if it is possible on an ION to combine cues from different show files?  Of course not using the same cue numbers in each file.  A co worker stated it was a feature on some legacy ETC consoles.  Practical application would be a dance show with several designers where you could tell each designer what cue range to stay in and have them cue their show using the offline editor and email their show file to be combined for the performance.

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi there.  If you go to the option "merge" under "file".  You'll want to select the file you want to bring data in from.   Then click "advanced".  This allows you to select just specific record targets and either bring in them under their existing ID or bring them in with new numbers.  You'll need to be mindful of a couple of things.

Right now, the desk is not bringing in tracked data .... so you'll need to block the first cue in your range before you do the import.  This is being changed in 2.0, but just so you are aware of it now.

And then, if you are bringing cues into the middle of an existing list, you probably need to place a block on the cue that is after the last one you are importing.

    Hope that helps.
