ETC ION Remote Focus Unit

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to customize the menu/screen on the RFR?  If not, is ETC working on an update to allow users to do this?  It would be a very useful option.  Thanks

  • I Second the request for go to cue- especially for use of go to cue out.  If you are on stage bringing up several channels to focus clean up- it is really inconvenient to have to go to playback then select go to cue out and then back to live.

Also- is about available on the remote?  Was on stage and wanted to send a lamp off command to an intelligent fixture but couldnt find it in either the RFR or iRFR.

  • For now, the quickest way for you to have this (and many other features you may want) would be to write some basic macros. Most Macros can be fired via the RFR using M then the number of the macro and enter. So having a Macro with Goto Cue Out or even just Goto Cue would give you what you need. The same going for Lamp Controls - Learn a couple of Macros on your console that have a double hit of Lamp ON and Lamp OFF in them, then on your remote you can enter your channel number and fire the relevant macro, a Lamp Control Global Fixture Reset I always find to be worthwhile.

A nicely laminated card, with a key to your handy Macros would be a lovely accessory for the back of your RFR! That's what I've got!

    Hope that helps.
