More RevEAL questions

Ok, so I have determined that the EOS has ReVEAL personalities, but the question is now, which one to use.  There are 8 "modes" and three algorithms for each mode plus plus a few have either "Refresh ON" or "Refresh OFF".

I've tried many of the combinations and while technically they function ie, they can be faded up and down and I can change color, I cannot get the fixtures to match the color or gel picker.  I pick a blue on the picker and pink comes out of the fixture.  Also, I cannot get white!

So the bottom line is if anybody has a working personality combination, I'd be all ears!

  • I do not have, and have never used those units, but have you tried changing the color format to see if that changed the way the units behave? Have you also made sure you were using the latest profile? Not that this is exactly your same situation, but I had an issue with CXI color scrollers not matching what I was picking in the color wheel and sometimes defaulting to a pale blue when homed. The issue was remedied when I updated the library for the profile.

    Having used these fixtures many times on both Eos and Ion, I will tell you that are a few variables that go into answering your question. I see that you are on 1.9.6 for Eos, but what version of ReVEAL are you using?

    If you would let me know the answer to that question, I should be able to get you situated.

    Thanks Vince and bosox!

     

    As I think I mentioned, these are my first LEDs!  I thought these would be like my movers, that when they were patched into the console with the correct personality they would just work.  I learned that I also needed to set the mode and algorithm on the fixture as well as choosing the correct personality.  Once I got this, the fixtures worked and responded just fine!

    Pat-

    Glad to hear that the units are working for you. Just as a heads-up: the profiles for ReVEAL Mode 8 all algorithims in the console are incorrect- the green channel and the amber channel are switched, so the fixture will not respond correctly to the console. I built my own profile for the units as I like to run them in Mode 8- ymmv.
