Virtual faders

So on this show I am working on we are using several que lists. Is there any way in a future build to allow the user to assign the virtual fader that a list is associated with when it is loaded onto a real fader handle. Also allowing the user to lock virtual faders.

I ask this because we have had lists get unloaded from their real fader. And currently when you reassign a list to a fader the desk picks the next sequential virtual. For us this really hurts our macro structure because we have to use macros to do a GO function on a virtual fader since we cannot do a GO press on a real fader via a macro.

  • Unfortunately snapshots do not remember virtual fader information. The desk assigns a virtual fader number to a list when it is loaded onto a physical fader. This is so that you can load the same list onto multiple faders. When you unload, or double release, the list from the physical fader and then reload it to a physical fader the desk assigns the next sequential virtual fader. The only place, that I know of, to view this information is in the Cue List Blind (double press [cue]. Those fields are not editable by the user. And they do not print in the PDF. As I found out today.

  • I see that snapshots don't work, so ignore that...

I'm having a mental block on the relationship between cuelist, virtual fader and what the Fader Config window calls "playback".

It seems that assigning a "playback" number to a fader is an extra step that makes the Fader Config window more confusing- you would expect the number in the "Mapped to" tile below the fader would refer to the cuelist number (it refers to the submaster number when the fader is defined as a submaster), but the playback number may or may not match the cuelist number.  Is there a reason that "playback" can't just mean "cuelist" in Fader Config?

It would be useful to be able to directly map specific cue lists to faders in Show Setup>Fader Configuration, much as you are currently able to map submasters.
