Problems with Manual Master Cue Lists

I had a show last week where I was using multiple playbacks and manual master cue lists.  I liked it very well, but I had an issue trying to use the faders manually.  The Operations Manual Supplement says "With a cue list on a fader set to manual master, a cue will fire in manual time when the fader is moved from 0% or from Full."

It did but not always on the 1st time I threw the fader.  Sometimes it took 1 extra time, sometimes 2 extra full throws of the fader.  This was bouncing between multiple cue lists controlling the same parameters (i.e. each list would have a single looping cue moving my lights to a specific location).

  • I don't think this is an acceptable solution.

First off, it doesn't actually work.  I've had the fader at zero and had to throw it to full and back before it responded.  Secondly, I really want to it to start fading immediately when it goes off full or zero (like the documentation says).  If I'm busking a show, I'm really busy doing lots of stuff live.  I don't want to have to think about whether or not the fader is going respond to the slow manual fade I'm trying do.  Not to mention that if it doesn't respond, I've missed my "moment" to do the fade.

In my situation, I'm bouncing between different playbacks controlling the same parameters and I'm using a combination of the faders for manual fades and the buttons to trigger "go" commands on the cuelists.

  • Steve, can you send me your showfile and help identify where you are seeing the problem.  Are you leaving certain cues uncompleted and taking control of those same lights on another cue list?  We will try to help sort out what is going on here, but if you could send your showfile that would be most useful.

  • Hi I have the same problem as described above. I can not know when the master will respond.

Is there a solution for this?
