Marking Chaos

I have a marking related question (or two).

The first:  What defines a "live move" as indicated by the "L" in the cue list.  I have some live scrolls in cues that don't indicate live moves.

On that same note- D  the manual says this is is "automark is disabled".  We have turned automark off and I still have some Ds leftover.  I've been able to remove most of them- do these show up on referenced Marks as well.  What is the possibility of adding an indicator (or redefining this one since my brain always trys to interpret it this way) for Dark moves.  I've been spending a lot of time hunting these down lately and it would be handy to have an indication in the cue list.

Question two:  NiP autoblocks- it looks like the console is auto-blocking Marked lights (a feature I approve of if it is).  I come across a bunch of these in my cues but no indication of autoblocks in the block column in the cuelist- are these all Marked values or is the console just not telling me that it is autoblocking NiPs?

P.S.  This is the first time I've used Referenced Marks to a large degree and it is incredibly usefull- I'm looking forward to the upgrades when the come!

The "L" is a little tricky. It will only appear in the cue list if the intensity of a channel is fading up from zero (or fading down to zero? I don't remember at the moment) and a NIP is moving IN THE SAME CUE. The logic behind it is that if you forget to make a mark, this will alert you to a problem. However, if the intensity is already above zero and is remaining above zero, and a NIP changes (a live scroll for example), the L will not be displayed because the console assumes that you intended for it to be a live move. Generally speaking, you generally don't want to see Ls in a cue list, and they're designed as a kind of "red flag" for the programmer. Of course, for any cues where you DO want a NIP changing as the light fades up (a ML following a performer, for example), the L will display but the cue will be correct.

As for the specific meaning of "D", I couldn't tell you. I remember that the MV column appeared a while back along with some changes to how Marks were displayed in the PSD, but I searched for a while and couldn't find any documentation on it. The way I've been using it, D seems to indicate any NIP move in dark that's not triggered by a Mark. So if you manually changed some NIPs in a cue, it would display a D. I'm sure it's probably more involved than that, but that's what I've been able to figure out from watching it.

Autoblocks work the same way with marked cues as with normal cueing. If you record a parameter at a specific level, then go back and record that same value into an earlier cue, the second cue will autoblock to maintain the concept of a move cue. Do you mean you're seeing the white parameter with an underline, but not seeing the lowercase "b" in the block column? I'm not sure why that would be - I just tested it offline, and the "b" shows up for me.

    Hope that helps.
