I'm trying to connect my MacBook Pro to an Ion Console. I read that I need a "dongle" - does anyone know where to get this? Do I actually need one? All the info I found was old.
Thanks!

Hi Sobko,
The dongle allows you to connect your Mac as a client to the Ion. Meaning that you can bring up lights, record cues really do everything that you can do with the Ion, but also from your Mac. Keep in mind though that this is when the Mac is connected to an Ion as a Client. The dongle does not turn the mac into a fully functional console.
Without the Client dongle, you mac will only connect in what is called Mirror Mode where it just "mirrors" the main console displays. You will not be able to control anything when in Mirror Mode.
Mirror Mode is handy if you have a tech table where you want a cue list / channel screen, but the Ion is being programmed in a different location.
That make sense?

You can get hold of a Client Dongle through your local ETC dealer. Part Number 4250S1001.
