Connecting Computer to Ion Console

I'm trying to connect my MacBook Pro to an Ion Console. I read that I need a "dongle" - does anyone know where to get this? Do I actually need one? All the info I found was old.

You can get hold of a Client Dongle through your local ETC dealer. Part Number 4250S1001.
