ION cue vs track

The setting only affects the way cues are recorded.

To add to what Rick has already mentioned... the console is always a move fade console even when in cue only mode, so there is nothing that the console could do when switched between tracking/cue only modes. It is purely an editing function that tells the console whether to only record changes into the specified cue(s) or allow them to track into cues further down the stack. There is no difference in playback when the desk is in either mode.

Thanks all - great info.  So I guess it would be accurate to say when switching what will change is inserting new cues?  What about updating cues?

The console wil automatically update Cue Only.

You can think of Cue Only mode as the console automatically pressing the Cue Only button for you, every time you Record or Update a cue.
