Feature and improvement suggestions

Feedback from users like you help us shape and improve Eos for all productions. We receive a large number of feature requests and suggestions from many sources, including this forum. Your comments and votes help us understand which features you’re passionate about, but there are many additional factors which inform development prioritization for any given release.

The most helpful information you can provide us when commenting on issues is how a particular suggestion would help you. If you describe your use-case and how the suggested change would benefit your work, it lets us gain a much deeper understanding of the need behind the suggestion. Suggestions often have an impact on what we work on, even if we ultimately choose not to implement a suggestion exactly as it’s described. Our ultimate goal is to understand what you and all users need and to create solutions that meet those needs. Occasionally, that’ll mean implementing a suggestion as described, but it usually means working to understand the need behind the suggestion and how we can meet that need for as many users as possible.

While we endeavor to update and respond to popular suggestions, the volume we receive means there will be occasions when we can’t provide an update or response in a timely manner. For bugs and show-critical issues, please use our standard forums and support structures: https://www.etcconnect.com/Contact/Technical-Support.aspx

  • Definable Zero Point

Can we make it so that we can re-define the zero point inside of A3D? Often my zero point in my drafting is a reference point rather than the center of my drawing. A3D seems to really like using the Zero point as a starting point for the camera views...
  • The ability to open multiple instances of Eos and view separate show files at the same time.

It would be great to be able to open two or more separate instances of Eos, particularly when using Nomad software, in order to compare different show files without having to merge them.

  • Selecting Multiple Cue Lists

Being able to edit multiple cue lists at once would make mutli cue list environments much easier to manage. At the moment changing the priority on 50 lists at once is a long task. At a push also being able to select multiple cue lists outside the Cue...
  • Shift Back Should Always Go Back a Cue Even During a Fade

When I press shift back I want to go backwards a cue 100% of the time, I never want to stop an existing fade. When doing rapid edits I frequently encounter situations where I want to go backwards a cue and press shift back, but it just pauses the fade...
  • Feature request: A proper, native toggle for magic sheets

For example, a button that alternates between two commands. You could then specify an icon for each command. Super useful for simple OSC RX Enable/Disable commands and similar functions. The copying macros around or cuelist toggle workarounds are just...

Hi, The ability to add focus tapes would be useful. Or the ability to a grid overlay of some kind? Thoughts? David
  • Coloring of PSD Rows

Hello, I would very much like a way to customize cuelists like being able to colorize a row(cue or part) to make it stand out. For example all cues triggered by Qlab could be purple, and timecode triggered cues could become red. The PSD is elegant and...
  • Gobo Flip

I was going through the Hamilton project workbook with 3.0 and I realized there's no way to flip a gobo in augmented. I can rotate it as many degrees as a want but I can't flip the image over. Obviously could do a work around with another program, but...
  • Allow Custom Parameter Labels When Building Custom Fixtures

It would be nice to allow us to label parameters of custom fixtures to be whatever we want instead of using the stock library of parameter names. Sometimes the EOS list doesn’t have what I need and I have to substitute with something that doesn’t really...
