Yes the idea is this should work like select last but for channel complete values. In film/ TV we make looks then shut off what's behind camera as it moves about the room covering the scene.  So we are always shutting off lots of lights then bringing them back on to the same color and intesity.  

And the values your LD is looking for were manual? Or background? Or either, depending on the moment at hand?

Yes the channel as it was last used color and all. I hear bring that back on to what ever it was 5 to 10 times a day. Now that I'm back on main unit.
