Feature and improvement suggestions

Feedback from users like you help us shape and improve Eos for all productions. We receive a large number of feature requests and suggestions from many sources, including this forum. Your comments and votes help us understand which features you’re passionate about, but there are many additional factors which inform development prioritization for any given release.

The most helpful information you can provide us when commenting on issues is how a particular suggestion would help you. If you describe your use-case and how the suggested change would benefit your work, it lets us gain a much deeper understanding of the need behind the suggestion. Suggestions often have an impact on what we work on, even if we ultimately choose not to implement a suggestion exactly as it’s described. Our ultimate goal is to understand what you and all users need and to create solutions that meet those needs. Occasionally, that’ll mean implementing a suggestion as described, but it usually means working to understand the need behind the suggestion and how we can meet that need for as many users as possible.

While we endeavor to update and respond to popular suggestions, the volume we receive means there will be occasions when we can’t provide an update or response in a timely manner. For bugs and show-critical issues, please use our standard forums and support structures: https://www.etcconnect.com/Contact/Technical-Support.aspx

  • Change Freeze FX behaviour to make data "recordable"

Hej Folks, I would like to run an FX on a couple of Movinglights, freeze them at a specific point and record that look as a preset or palette. Right now it will record the position data from which the lights started their effect if I do so. Make Absolute...
  • Shift + Update to multiple locations?

This probably won’t be of use to many other situations Eos finds itself in, however in the TV studio situation I work this would be really useful! So let me explain the setup. 3 lighting galleries with Ion XE’s in. 7 studio spaces, all with different...
  • Pull target labels into show control events

When a show control event is created/assigned to a cue, macro, etc. - a facility to automatically pull the label of that cue (or whatever) into the event label field in the show control list would be really good.
  • Basic Musical Objects

It would be great if we could get a handful of basic objects commonly found in concerts. Mic stands, keyboards, drum kit, etc.

It´d be great if there was an option to change the action of the load button of a submaster or a Cuelist.
  • Default Mark Time per channel in patch or per fixture type

Default Mark Time per channel in patch or at least per fixture type would be great as it would come in so handy when you work with scrollers and media servers / LEDs in the same show. That would be awesome!
  • Record Groups while in Patch

Hello, I would love to be able to record groups while patching. In most cases we patch groups of lights in an order that we would eventually make groups. During patching the channel selection is already in the command line and could very quickly be...

  • Expanded and clearer layout for OSC IP addresses & multiple port implementation

Hello, Is it possible to look at the layout for OSC IPs in Show Control/OSC in Setup? We are now in a world where rather than using broadcast, we're targeting specific IPs of multiple machines (a main and backup QLab, as well as a main and backup...
  • Lay-Out SW keyboard should be a choice (apex or legacy)

The keyboard lay-out changed with the introduction of Apex. The software keyboard layout (as used in a tab or in the pop-up) should be mirroring the lay-out of the console or programming wing that you are actually using. If you are using the software...
