Feature and improvement suggestions

Feedback from users like you help us shape and improve Eos for all productions. We receive a large number of feature requests and suggestions from many sources, including this forum. Your comments and votes help us understand which features you’re passionate about, but there are many additional factors which inform development prioritization for any given release.

The most helpful information you can provide us when commenting on issues is how a particular suggestion would help you. If you describe your use-case and how the suggested change would benefit your work, it lets us gain a much deeper understanding of the need behind the suggestion. Suggestions often have an impact on what we work on, even if we ultimately choose not to implement a suggestion exactly as it’s described. Our ultimate goal is to understand what you and all users need and to create solutions that meet those needs. Occasionally, that’ll mean implementing a suggestion as described, but it usually means working to understand the need behind the suggestion and how we can meet that need for as many users as possible.

While we endeavor to update and respond to popular suggestions, the volume we receive means there will be occasions when we can’t provide an update or response in a timely manner. For bugs and show-critical issues, please use our standard forums and support structures: https://www.etcconnect.com/Contact/Technical-Support.aspx

  • Feature Request: Background Image Rotate

It would be super useful to add the ability to set a 2D rotation on images used as backgrounds in magic sheets. Currently, I have to edit a photo outside Eos in order to rotate it 90° etc. Having the option to do that the same way we can change scale...
  • Individual release / off time for cue lists

Hi, release time is global, you need to change it in setup, maybe an option to define it in command line or cue list's properties would be great.
  • Macro Color Chips - Add Blue as a Color option for the color swatch

Sending this in based on some tradeshow feedback. While this would only work for Apex due to the oLED, it could also showup correctly in the Direct Selects on a screen for non-apex console. This could either ripple across all of the Eos software, or just...
  • Raw data values and Palettes both work in a single command line

[Group] (31) [Focus Palette] (3) {Intensity} (0) [Sneak] (6) [Enter] will not work. [Group] (31) [Focus Palette] (4) {Zoom} (100) [Sneak] (1) [Enter] will not work. Only the raw data will execute. All data needs to be contained in a palette for the...
  • Manufacture information in Patch and About of a selected fixture

It would helpful to see the manufacture in Patch additional to Type for the selected channel(s). Same for About.

  • OSC support for getting a channels' parameter ( /eos/get/patch/// ?!)

When pulling data via OSC there is welcome support for high-level features like Augment3d or FPE, Palettes or Pixmaps - but none for the basic parameters of a channel. This it would be amazing to get: /eos/get/patch/<chan>/<part>/<parameter> ( Ofc one...
  • focus conventional with XYZ values and keep target memory for next venues

Hi, i wondered if this was thinkable, this would make them quite easy to focus and allow to focus them once in a tour, and to get augmented reasonably easily uo to date. This could be part of the patch tab, as it already gets orientation parametres?
  • Colored grouped cues inside PSD like Qlab does

Working in a multi user environment, being the house light designer, I wish it could be possible to group x number of cues inside a colored frame so that everyone can understand blocs of cues working together. I find that scenes attributes are not visual...
  • Proportional Change on +%/-%

I often find the changes I need to make to a channel's level are more related to its current level, than an absolute percentage change. I'd like to be able to set my +% button to /200 (double the channel's current value), and my -% button to /70.7 (sqrt...
