Could it be possible to have Frame1A and frame 1B on same wheel: Wheel1=Frame 1A and Pig+wheel1=Frame 1B, with this option you could have 4 frames on same wheels page.
We've planned on implementing a visual tool for adjusting framing shutters. This is being tracked as enhancement #6023. I've added the appropriate comments from this thread to that defect.
I'm still interested in what people think about the idea of controlling each pair of parameters for a shutter or keystone adjustment point on a single wheel. Is there some consensus about the best way to do this?
My suggestion is good abstraction layer. Encoder moves both A and B = Insertion. Modifier key + encoder increases A and decreases B or the opposite (depends on, do you turn CW or CCW) = Angle There could be 2 modes, but I don't personally like it much, cause it can result a situation where you have both modes mixed...
[quote=teerickson]We've planned on implementing a visual tool for adjusting framing shutters. Visual tools are for me the best and the easiest way to work, for wheels, insertion and angle is good because most simple ( same for all fixture) and it could be a solution for calibration. Now it is simple for Mac because theres 2 features, but for VL and CP is it possible with 1 rotation of 1 wheel to move 2 features, and with same wheel + ? have a "fan" on this two same features. If that's possible to do that + Visual tools :notworthy:
I do not bet anything because I know that HES/FPS are able of all
It's certainly a feature that would be possible to implement. The question is what's the most logical functionality and what would be the best keyboard shortcut(s) or key combinations to use.
I just fooled around with one of our vl1000s today just to see how i use the shutters, and i found myself moving both encoders at the same time, but not the same "amount" of movement a lot, to get the desired result. So i think i would actually miss the opportunity to be able to move them independently..
kinda like it would be a hassle mixing with cmy if you had to first move the c, then the m, and so y..
-But thats just me.. others might work differently..
if we work with wheels, insertion and angle is for me the more because it can be the for evry fixtures with frames. Control Key could be used because it's not so far from Pig and Fan, and perhaps we wil have one day a fine option on frames or an other Control + Wheel (Zoom + Focus or Gobo + Focus.....)
