I have a couple of CMY Spots that are displaying a tab error. I think in association with a color wheel, or a gobo wheel. If not, those are completely seperate errors. Any one know what a tab error is? Thanks.
Tab error happens when the wheels homing tab does not pass though the sensor. I would probable guess that you have a motor problem. You can check the sensor by going into the menu under INFO there you will find SENS push enter and then you can select the different sensors. Now move the wheels tab to break the sensors beam the display will change from OFF to ON if he sensor is working. Or it's ON to OFF I can’t remember off the top of my head. If it does change them it probable is the motor or it could be the driver on the board. Swoop the driver with one on the board that you know is working. Of curse do that with the power off.
I have the same problems with my X-Spots... We used ot have it with Spot CMYs... I normally just blow them out with compressed air and it usually took care of the problem...
Anyone have a list of these errors. I am getting the same sort. Tab1 Err RG60 or RGb0 not sure which it is. I have sprayed the sensors with air but didn't get a chance to run the sensor test. Thanks in advance.
If it isn't moving at all, You probably have a Driver Chip/Harness/Logic Card/Motor Problem
When the motor is plugged in and the fixture is on, does it feel like it is energized?
Can you swap the motor to a known working position? (Gobo 2?) Just to see if it works...
If the motor works in another position, I would swap the driver chips on the Logic card, and see if the problem chases the logic card, or the driver chip.
And if swapping the driver chip implies that the chip is OK, then you would need to send your logic card in for repair.
