The Offline version is able to run with a Visualization tool like WYSIWYG or Capture. It will work just like it does with a console but the output refresh rate is reduced so you cannot run physical lights using the offline version. However, to preview positions and changes in a visualizer works fine.
Ok, I'm running into a weird problem trying to do this now. both the offline editor computer and the WYSIWYG computer are setup as per instructons in Congo Manual, but whnever teh Congo soware starts it causes a Visual C++ Runtime error.
I'm using Congo Offline version 4.2.1 on Windows XP Professional SP2, 1024 MB DDR RAM, 256 VRAM ATI Radeon 9550, Pentium 4 w/HT clocked at 2.6 GHz
My WYSIWYG is Version 10 running on Windows XP Home SP2, 512 DDR SDRAM, 64MB shared VRAM Intel Extreme, P4 w/HT clocked at 3.06 GHz (laptop)
any suggestions?

Does the C++ error say anything else? Perhaps a memory exception error then a long number?
Try unintsalling all instances of Congo on your computer and re installing it.
If you can grab a screen shot of it please email it to me. ben.smith@etcconnect.com
Thanks!
At which point during the startup do you get the error message? Is it before you reach the "trackball" screen? Does it crash after you press MODIFY in this screen? Or do you get to the point where you can load the last show before it crashes?
Please let us know if reinstalling the offline version helped.
The errors happen right after i login.
here's the series of errors for anybody interusted.
The serie of images was very helpful.
It is clear that the problems are releated to the Online Help Database (OHD) engine. I haven't seen anything similar before but I would suggest that you reinstall the Congo application. This will also install the help engine.
Are you running Windows XP with Service Pack 2?
yes, I'm running XP with SP2 on both computers, and ive allowed access through my software firewall for all necessary components.
After reinstalling, i get the exact same errors. Is it possible a conflict with Internet Explorer 7? Have there been previous problems related to IE7?
I am using IE7 together with Congo here and have no problems so it is probably something else.
This is the first time someone hasn't been able to install the offline editor that I know about.
Do you have another computer that you could try it on?
Ok Im using WYSIWYG version 10 I spent hours doing my up coming dance rig then came to load up the congo to connect with my off line congo but I dont seem to find the ETC Congo in consol dictory.
Do i have to download this into the libary
Please help this will save loads of time on production day !!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you installed the Congo WYG driver package? Available here: http://www.etcconnect.com/docs/docs_downloads/console/Driver_setup.zip
With WYG version 10, you may have to select AVAB Pronto as device and connect to it.
Hope this helps!
LOL Ha Haaaaa I knew I was missing something.
Thank you.
On the Windows Client ..
START>rightclick MY Network Places > Properties
Right Click (on the network connection attached between the system running Congo and the system running WYSIWYG) > Properties > Install > Protocol > Add > NWLink IPX/SPX > OK > Close
If you already have the Avab Pronto set up in WYSIWYG and the drivers Anders refferenced, with WYSIWYG running you will see a "V" on the bottom right of the taskbar on the system running WYSIWYG. Double click on it and you will have the option of setting your IPX Network number.
Congo defaults to 9 ... set the WYSIWYG driver to 9 as well .. you will need to do this each time you start WYSI ..
