Midi Show Control Event not working

On List 1/ change that from network to MIDI and you should be good to go. A MIDI loopback device presents in Nomad as a physical MIDI interface, not a network source. 

Thanks. I selected the only Midi that was on offer (Midi Timecode) but I was not able to use Note On on the Event.

Network is the correct type for all MIDI except MIDI Timecode (MTC) and MIDI ShowControl (MSC).

Ah yes, I overlooked the use of MIDI Notes, as I almost exclusively use timecode... That was the only thing that didn't look correct. However you might want to try a tool such as MIDI Ox which will display the actual MIDI Notes that are passing through your loopback  just to verify that it's actually sending note C at 127. I've been surprised sometimes because I thought I was sending a specific MIDI note but wasn't in reality. 

I'm making a little progress now but Midi-Ox is sending 90 30 68 which is C3 and I think it should be C4 or C5. Also should it not be a 7F at the end rather than a 68? How do you set up Midi-Ox to do this please?

The octaves of Midi notes aren't standardized. There are octaves 0 to 10 in Midi, but musically speaking there are also negative octaves. You will often see Midi octave 0 corresponding to musical octave -2, which i think is what you're seeing.

The 3rd number pair of a Midi note is called velocity. This was meant for pianos to say how hard a key was hit. 01 was very soft, 7F was as hard as possible. Now that notes are often used for communication not involving pianos or actual musical notes, velocity is often being used to communicate a piece of additional information. In Eos for example you can map it to the level of a fader.

I can't tell you why Midi Ox is choosing 68, but it is a valid number in this context.

Thanks for the help so far. Although I see the notes being sent on the Midi-Ox, I am not seeing anything in the Diagnostics screen in Nomad on the PC. Is there anything I've not set up correctly?
