SATA3 Hard Disk:S.M.A.R.T. Status BAD, Backup and Replace. Press F1 to Resume.

Hi everyone,

I have an ION 1000 console that is showing the subject's message on startup and just that. It doesn't start, it doesn't do anything else.

My question here is:

Is there any kind of disassembly / maintenance manual or step by step tutorial in order to successfully open the console, replace its hard disk and put it back to work properly?

How could I possibly "Backup and Replace" (in that order), if I am not able to access any information inside the console anymore?

Thanks to all..!!

  • Hello everyone,

To share my experience with the rest of you, I just took the HDD off and replaced it with a clone HDD from a second ION console we have and it worked really good.

But, after a few days, for some reason both consoles did not work anymore. I am guessing it has to be some sort of lost communication between each console and its correspondents CEM+ modules but and haven't been able to find a way to verify what is indeed happening and how to fix it.

It's important to advise that each console with its CEM+ module. is in a different (physically independent) network and they are not connected by any means.

    Thanks everybody..
