Gobo Rotators Custom Profiles

I have both the Apollo Smartmove DMX and the Roto Q in my rig and working with the built in profile. As both Rotators have their stop point at 0 rather than 50, (49/51 is extremely slow in either direction, 1/100 is extremely fast in either direction). I’m curious as to if it’s possible to create a custom profile where 0 is the midpoint and jumps to 51 or 49 as a plus or minus value to rotate either direction slowly? Looking at doing this rather than creating a cue to slow it down before sending it to 0 to stop it.

Hopefully that made sense,

thanks.

  • So that almost works. It works fine going having the value jump from 127 to 0 (the stop)  But jumping from 0 to 128 (the other direction) it wants to go the other direction (not in a slow fashion first).

For the most part this will work. Until I get a designer wanting to go the other direction. I assume the problem is with the console going from a value 50% to 51% as it is jumping dmx values to get there. I’ll try playing around with the dmx values when I get a bit more time.

    Thanks.
