Hi Ueli. I'm using the Titan tubes off of an XE20 running 2.9.  Also using M89, I made a profile for the NYX Bulb to operate the same way.  But for both this CCT issue is the same.  Are you saying that if I edit the personality so that the CCT range goes Min 2000 to Max 9910, the light output will closely match color temperature indicated on the Ion?  Unfortunately I do not have an LED color meter to measure with.  Thank you for your assistance.

Hi Vinosity.  How did this work out for you?  I'm trying the same sort of thing, and also with the NYX Bulb.  I'd love to know if you worked out an accurate solution, and if so could you share it with me.  It sounds like if I edit the personality so that the CCT range is 2000 - 9910, this will work.  What did you find?  Thanks, AM.

i'm not saying that. the manual does. no promises... haven't checked NYX.

Fair enough, I wouldn't hold you to it.  But I am playing around with the concept.  When I set the personality that way, the math comes close to what the CCT formula in their manual says.  When I set the CCT to read 3200, I'm getting a DMX output of 39.  32 x 39 = 1248, adding 1750 = 2998.  So it's close.  I was just trying to figure out how to set up the personality so that I got the DMX output more closely aligned.  Thanks Ueli.

if you're getting DMX 39 with CCT set to 3200 you're doing domething wrong. with the range as described in my earlier post, 3200 will get you DMX 50.

Ha!  I know I've done something wrong, that's why I'm here.  Color Temperature is my 2nd parameter and is the 2nd DMX channel (8b).  I've got it with the CCT "Ranges" set to 2000>9910, a Home level of 0.  I don't know if that info helps you point me in the right direction, but I hope so.  I tried to include a screen shot, but couldn't seem to work out the right file type.  Regardless, thank you for your time.

Hmmm... I get 45 that way - but that matches Astera's formula and equals 3190 as they said. Pretty nice!  While I've got you...  what's your most efficient way to add new fixtures to "by type" palettes?

So, now I have a great fixture profile thanks to that, and I love learning things along the way.  BTW the other adjustment to the personality I made was to set the tint value at 128 so the default was neutral.  For the color palettes I just rerecorded them with the new fixtures and all is well.  The only thing is that the color swatches on the color temp palettes are all the same - lt. lav.  Is that supposed to do that?

yes, that's expected behavior. the color swatch comes from the color mixing system (RGB+/CMY/HS) of the highest-numbered channel that has data in the palette.

you can fake the color swatch: patch a dummy channel with type RGB at the end of your patch. for me it's always channel 10000. if it has data in the palette the color swatch will show this channel's color. now jyou can mix what color the swatch should display.
