macro activate submaster

I want to make a macro which activates a bumpbutton of a submaster (like before with the express) I've made the effect and put in on a subfader and works. I also made a macro which activates the bump button of the submaster and put the macro in a cue.

I don't know why the macro is not working when I press the go button. The macro information only gives "SubDown SubUp"

The idea is to start an effect in one cue and 10 cues later deactivate the effect.

  • I believe that as Ion is a move fade desk, the effect will track thru till you give it a command to stop.

I just did this on our Nutcracker which is an ASCII file imported from an Emphasis/Express, as a fireplace flicker in series of cues.

I had to do a re-write of the effect as I had done it as a cue activating a macro that recorded a Go on the bump button of a subroutine on a submaster, which doesn't read in the ASCII import.

It was simple to re-write the basic effect, apply it to a cue and have it run, then fade out a number of cues later.  I avoided all the Macro, Submaster, stuff. I believe I might have written a "Ch XX thru XX, Effect 1, Record Cues X thru X", or some such, but it was very easy to apply.
