Creating a new Fixture Profile

Hello Michael,

creating a Fixture Profile isn't easy. Every Parameter from the Manual needs to be translated into EOS.
Means you need to find a Parameter that discribes close enough what the Parameter is doing.

And i always try to go with "matching names" if Parameters are relating.

What also can help is figuring out the category of the Parameter: Color/Focus/...
And than look in those categorys to find something.

It is quite helpfull to make a short spreadsheet list for "translation" of the Manual into EOS.

Long things short:
Try to fit the Real World action to the EOS Parameter and don't stick to much with the Manual's names.

Thanks for the reply.  It's for a Vello Magic T12.  I had posted the manual and a request over in the fixture profile request forum to see if someone could maybe add the fixture profile in the future to make it easier for those who might purchase this one, however heard it can take awile.

So, in the mean time, since we already got these lights, decided to give it a try to see what I could come up with myself.  I'll have to look closer at the manual:  https://vsite.xincache.cn/100085_1909265108/LEDMagicT12usermanual.pdf and see if I can understand better the effects portion of the parameters to know exactly what they do (color, focus, etc).  For reference we would likely be using the standard (20 ch) mode instead of the extended (57 ch) mode.  Although under the 57 ch mode, they don't mention anything like effects under the parameter section.

Anyway, appreciate the reply as it does make a lot of sense to view it the way you said.  Thanks.

i would say it is a Color Effect and would maybe go with:
- Color Effect 1 / Color Macros 1 
- Color Effect Rate / Color Macro Rate

And since the Static and the Dynamic are on the same Channel, you could put it in a Mode, like:
- Color Mode
- Color Mix Mode
If in a Mode, you can switch between one option and an other.

It worked really well, thanks.  I ended up creating some profiles before the official ones, but now I received the profiles from the profile request board.  Both ended up working. The only question I would have is, what does the background intensity feature typically do?  I tried to use it, but it seems to do nothing (Magic T12 Light).

Typically there are two cases for Background Intensity:

1. You have a fixture that has an effect parameter that groups the fixture's sources into two groups. One of those groups gets the color chosen by the RGB parameters, The other group gets the Background Color. Background Intensity would be associated with Background Color.
2. You have a fixture like a Mac Aura. Its primary output is a beam, but the lenses for the Beam are embedded in a bigger fresnel lens. Regular Intens and RGB could e.g. control the beam aspect of the fixture while the Background Intens (and its colors) control the eye candy lens aspect of the fixture.
