Lamp on/off question

this is the profile I suspect something wrong,i don't see lamp controls

Turning the lamp on and off first has to be enabled from the fixture's System Menu, per these excerpts from pages 26 and 30 of the Hydro Beam X12's User Manual:

Then, according to this chart of DMX Addresses and their function from page 34 of the User Manual, and depending on whether the fixture is in its 14 or 18 channel mode/profile, putting the 14th or 18th DMX address of the fixture to 51% to 54% (equivalent to 130 to 139 DMX value) will turn the Lamp On, and 90% to 93% (equivalent to 230 to 239 DMX values) will turn the Lamp Off. (The excerpt of the Percentage vs. DMX Value Chart is from a chart that I made years ago.)

Now you can build those values into cues for your show.

It's correct, that in Eos fixture profiles those control functions are handles through Lamp Control rather than through cues. So striking the lamp happens with a button in either a button in About > Lamp Controls or in the Lamp Control tab (tab 31).

You can however automate this: If you have a lamp on and a lamp off macro (i suggest learning it), you can execute the respective macros from cues.

Just some thoughts on this: The rule of thumb I've always used is that striking a lamp takes an hour off of it's life (but it really depends on the lamp and fixture). Therefore, I would avoid restricting a lamp multiple times within a show, plus you run the risk of it not striking back up when you need it, plus you need to time it because discharge lamps need time to come up to the correct intensity and color. 

You might want to contact ADJ and see what is the maximum amount of time they recommend (and will warranty) a fixture for with the lamp on and douser in use. It should be longer than a few hours.

As far as I can tell this is an old wives tale and you can leave lights struck and closed for as long as you want. Some fixtures, like the Viper for example, actually decrease the lamp power while the shutter is all the way closed.
