referenced effect from preset inside several cues

This is redirected behavior. Presets do sure effect data, but the effect data is not referenced in e.g. cues. 

Think of presets with effects was delivery method that puts values in cues the moment you apply it, rather than a traditional referencing preset.

This is super confusing and a bad design choice in my opinion. I honestly think it would have been better to simply not allow effects in presets at all, they don't mirror the expected behavior of referenced data, so it's of niche use and causes confusion like this.

what do you suggest to do ?

I need to store an effect somewhere with its channels parameters like rate, size, etc… to use it in several cues and beeing able to modify the effect parameters once and have the modifications effective in every cue without having to edit each cue on every effect parameter change.

If you use and effect in a cue and do not modify any parameters, and re use that effect then it will reference it in all cues. Anywhere that data can be modified such as size and rate, the numbers turn red and then can be saved in to the cue at that size and rate. If you have an absolute effect that references things like CP of FP and you modify the CP or FP then the effect will be change in all cues it is used in.

EG effect xx is a colour effect made uop of green and red. If you change the colours to Red and blue then all cues that reference that effect will change to the new colours.

You do not need to save the effect in a preset to make it behave the same in cues.

If it's a repeatable effect I would also recommend just storing all the params inside the effect itself, and don't edit them per-cue. But you can also make edits in multiple cues at once, Blind Cue 5 + 10 + 22 + 37. You can also store the total look in another cue to recall later, IE make cue 2/1 have the base look, and you can do a "Recall from cue 2/1" whenever you need to pull those channels in that effect with whatever params.

I don't think recalling from a base cue provides any advantage over recalling the effect from a preset.

I agree, they're functionally the same. Just an alternative that might be simpler to understand if confused about how effects work in presets.

i have 4 effects playing in several cues (maybe 50).
On some cues (21;24;32;47), the effect 1 has a mirror in fixture offset and on other ones (22;37;41), it has a mirror out with rate and size different.
On some other cues, the effect 2 has a rate at 80 with a size at 50 and on some other cues, the rate is 120 ans size 200, etc...

fixtures selection, rate and size are not stored inside effects themselves.

i can not imagine on tour having to recall the effects values from an external cue or something else (either building a macro with 40 cues recalls inside....because maybe in 3 days, i will have 60 or 30 cues and effects in different cues, because the director had new ideas).

in my opinion, it would be a good idea to have a place to store effects with fixtures selections and effect rate/size/etc.. once and then just have a referenced call inside the cues (i have seen that the presets are a good place for that but maybe there is a better way to achieve this)

maybe i would need something like "effect channel palette"

i am now storing my effects in a cuelist and using "execute" on the main cue list to trigger the effect requested but it is not very comfortable so an "effect channel palette" or similar would be better
